FREEDOM FROM PAIN - CELEBRATION OF INDIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY WITH CANCER PATIENTS

Dear friends, From the time of its inception, DNipCare (Delhite’s National Initiative in Palliative Care) traversed little, but surely many miles to go. However, now on 15th August 2012, when its 4th anniversary coincides with the 65th Indian Independence Day marking freedom from bondages, we feel we are yet to ensure complete freedom from the tentacles of pain for the ailing long term, bedridden, terminally ill patients including Cancer Patients. Festivals and festivities are taboo to the cancer patients when entangled in the Chemo, Radio therapies and surgeries mingled with the advent of emotional isolation combined with deteriorating physical conditions and demoralizing mental agonies. Realizing the scenario and , we, the volunteers of DNipCare have always tried to be sensitive to the perils of the cancer patients and to provide solace, succor and quality in their lives. As a sequel to our last two years programs, we will be celebrating Independence Day on 15th August 2012 also with the ailing cancer patients admitted in Delhi State Cancer Institute and in its adjacent Sir Soba Singh Dharamshala. People from all walks of life are expected to participate in this programme. On this occssion we, the volunteers of DNipCare cordially invite you to be part of our humanitarian care by marking your valuable presence and exchanging pleasantries with these ailing patients and their care givers.
