God took our Deepak Behera, one among our palliative family members, to his heavenly abode at 8.20 PM today in this Easter eve. His association with us started from 21st September 2011 when on receiving information about his pathetic situation from Meenaxi Banja of Times Now channel, we (Madhu, Suresh, Unnikrishnan and me) located him in Delhi University Metro Station area suffering from Oral Cancer and went on through the ups and downs of his disease.
Hailing from Baramati District of Maharashtra, Deepak (37) was in Delhi for more than 1 ½ decades or so riding his tricycle and reaching the passengers to their destinations, though his own destiny was in oblivion due to severity of the disease. Our efforts to trace his family in the Baramati District or adjacent areas did not find any success.
However, the care and support from the core of hearts of DNipCare volunteers,
the Samaritans of Shanti Avedna Sadan and the Delhi State Cancer Institute authorities could, as we feel,
provide some quality in the otherwise neglected life of a poor destitute
rikshaw puller.
Let us all pray for the departed soul.
