DNipCare's Celebration of Republic Day with Cancer Patients in Delhi State Cancer Institute, Dilshad Garden, New Delhi
It was yet another Republic Day showcasing the military might and the oneness and togetherness of rich with diverse culture and traditions of India at the Rajpath. After the parade and the celebrations the volunteers of DNipCare had their own celebrations also, but with the ailing Cancer Patients in Delhi State Cancer Institute. It was an occasion for all the participants mainly the student community from The Hindu College and Aditi Mahavidyalaya of Delhi University, Social Work Masters students of IGNOU, IIT Delhi students etc despite the odd climate of a 24 mm rain with wettest January Day of this Century. The celebration with music, dance, ghazals and what not enthralled the patients and their bystanders hailing from far flung States, but availing the treatment from the Delhi State Cancer Institute, which is the only ray of hope with World Class treatment, but without any out of pocket expenditure for the really poor patients. The patients and bystanders wholeheartedly participated in the totally entertaining event aimed at lessening their pain and sufferings at least for the duration of the program, if not for ever.
The program also included distribution of sweets, juices and exchanging pleasantries.
