DNipCare in association with FOSA, Delhi and Echo India Organized a "Sensitization Training Programme on Palliative Care for University/College Students" on 12th April 2025.
Mr. Subu Rahman, IAAS, President, DNipCare welcomed the dignitaries and the Student participants. He has emphasized the role of Students in Palliative Care. He has also detailed about the activities of DNipCare in the Palliative Care arena in this National Capital Territory of Delhi since the year 2008. Programme Overview has been provided by Mr. KV Hamza, General Secretary DNipCare and also talked about the other intitiaves of the Organization. Dr. KA Aysha Swapna, Principal, Farook College (Autonomous), delivered the key note address. She has showcased the progress achieved by the students volunteers as well as the members of FOSA in the effective implementation of Palliative Care for the debilitating patients in Kerala. Adv. Haris Beeran, Hon'ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and the Vice President of DNipCare inaugurated the Programme and addressed the audience highlighting the necessity of spreading Palliative Care awareness among the people, especially the younger generation. Dr. Sushma Bhatnagar, Senior Consultant and Clinical Lead-Palliative Medicine, Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi Immediate Past President, IAPC appreciated the efforts of DNipCare in bringing the Students into Palliative Care and talked on the necessity of involvement of everybody in the society for supporting the Palliative Care mission for the patients. Dr. Rakesh Garg, Professor, Department of Onco-Anaesthesia and Palliative Medicine, Dr. B R A Institute Rotary Cancer Hospital and National Cancer Institute, AIIMS, New Delhi took the Session "Sensitizing on the essentiality and principles of Palliative Care" with adequate explanations and examples and answered each and every question raised by the enthusiastic participants. Miss Siyana Siyad, Social Work Student of Jamia Millia Islamia summarized the Session proceedings at the end of the Session. Mr. Suresh Thaliyaril, Vice President, DNipCare effectively coordinated the event. Echo India representative Ms. Anjali provided full technical support to running the event successfully. Over 200 students from different Universities attended the program.
