A Volunteer perspective after meeting patients during DNipCare Home Care and Clinic.

Dear all,  wishing you all a very happy new year with a message based on my very brief experience of being part of DNip Care.

"I am haunted by the smiles,
wherever I go.
The resigned smile of Satya, in the midst of unbearable pain and never ending responsibilities,  waiting to say the final goodbye.
The enterprising smile of Sachin,
who dreams of building his little empire of provisions.
The never say die smile of Kanwal Singh ,
sending a benediction to all.
The smile in the eyes of Vijayan which brings light to the world around him.
The unassuming innocent smile of Varun as he curls inside, not being able to make sense of the people and life.
The smile of Amaira which leaves you helpless as you can only watch a benign soul slowly moving towards her death and in the midst of all, the promising smile of  Ruhi, a silent rebellion against her circumstances.
These smiles haunt me day and night and I find my sensibilities at a loss.
In their suffering, they radiate an energy nourishing and sustaining, teaching one of the greatest meanings of life, to face life as it comes.....
