DNipCare Charitable Palliative OP Clinic on 26th February 2023

 

DNipCare Charitable Palliative OP Clinic in association with KMWA, Delhi on 26th February 2023 managed by the Volunteers Team led by Dr. Nishad from Calicut, supported by Ms. Pearly Sen, Consultant Bio-Chemist from Jaipur Golden Hospital, Mr. John Antony, Nursing Professional, other Volunteers, Mr. Subin Salam, Mr. Nanda kumaran, Mr. Abdul Kareem, Mr. Yunus, Mr. Soma Sekharan, Mr. Mohammed Asif, Miss Neha, Miss Shalini Dutta, the Jamia Students viz., Miss Mehfy TK, Miss Anshi, and coordinated by KV Hamza, Gen. Secretary DNipCare. 












The unused medicines collected by Volunteers of Palliative Care under Smriti of Jamia Millia Islamia University have been brought to the DNipCare Clinic by Miss Mehfy and Miss Anshy of the University and handed over to Ms. Pearly Sen and KV Hamza, Gen. Secretary, DNipCare for dispensing free to the poor patients as per the Doctor's prescription.

Familiarizing Hospice Care - Dr. L. J. De Souza Founder of Shanti Avedna Sadan on 25th February 2023 - DNipCare participation

 

 



 

Padmashree Dr. L. J. Desouza, Founder and Managing Trustee of Shanti Avedna Sadan at Mumbai, Delhi and Goa  held an interactive Program with the eminent faculties and Medical and Social Work Professionals to Familiarize the Hospice Care Mission  25th February 2023 at Shanti Avedna Sadan, Delhi.   Many dignitaries including Dr. Manoj Sharma, Consultant Delhi State Cancer Institute, Dr. Saveena Rahena, Head, Anesthesia, Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Madhu Dayal, Profesor Anesthesia and Incharge Pain Clinic, Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Rakesh Garg, Associate Professor, BRAIRCH, AIIMS, New Delhi, Mrr. A.J Philip, eminent Journalist, Sr. Hanife Mc Gamwell, Palliative Nurse Specialist, Dr. Deepa Khurana, of Safdarjung Hospital, Dr. Gaurav Chanana from Max Hospital, Saket, Dr. Megha Pruthi from Max Hospital, Vaishali, and a lot amnay professionals attended the program. 

It is also pertinent to mention that Padmashree Dr. L J De Souza is the pioneer to introduce the Hospice Care concept for terminally ill Cancer Patients to the masses in India and established the first Hospice Care Centre (Shanti Avedna Sadan) in Mumbai in 1986, same year in Goa also and during 1994 in Delhi adjacent to Safdarjung Hopital.

Detailed discussion were held on different aspects of Hospice & Palliative Care, challenges thereon, way forward etc and was summed up by Dr. Rakesh Garg.

Dr. De Souza was honoured with a Memento by Dr. Reti Balachandran, Faculty of Dr. RML Hospital Nursing College.

Dr. De Souza was honoured with a shawl by Dr. Manoj Sharma of DSCI, Dilshad Garden, Delhi.

Dr. Deepa Khurana honoured Ms. Carmin De Souza, wife of Dr. L J De Souza with a shawkl,

Sister Tabitha, Administrator, welcomed the audience.  Dr. Chhaya of Shanti Avedna Sadan said vote of thanks.
