Parivartan, the social service wing
under the Students’ Union of AIIMS, New Delhi literally makes social impact in
the society by supporting the initiatives working for the downtrodden sections
of the society. Their support, however, not only includes physical volunteering,
but also extends to monetarily assisting deserving organizations in the social
& medical arena. The organization, thus, extended the support to the
comprehensive Palliative Care mission under DNipCare with a financial donation
of Rs.1,05,000/-. The cheque for the donation was handed over by Dr. Balram
Airan, Dean (Academics) to KV Hamza,(General Secretary), Suresh Thaliyaril
(Secretary),SC Sharma, Rajendran Nair and Dr. Zeeshan Ali, the volunteers of
DNipCare in a function held today, 30th May 2016 in AIIMS, in Dean's Committee
Room.
Dr. Balram Airan also impressed upon the need of doctors and medical students' involvement in Social service activities and requested the union representatives to sensitize interns in providing the voluntary services for homebound bedridden patients through Palliative Home Care program of DNipCare. Ajmal Roshan RJ, General Secretary , Althaf Thaha, Finance Secretary, and Raghunandan , VP of Students’ Union of AIIMS, were also present on the occasion. We thank AIIMS Students' Union and the Parivartan team for their great contribution towards the betterment of suffering humanity and we wish them all the success in their future endeavours. We do hope to see Parivartan volunteers in our home based Palliative care delivery team soon. Together, our smaller actions can create big impacts in those suffering lives.
