Promoting Ecellence in Palliative Care Nursing - DNipCare Echo 3rd Session held at 4.00 PM on 07.11.2020

The DNipCare held the 3rd Academic Session of ECHO program on “Promoting excellence in Palliative Care Nursing at 4.00 PM on Saturday, 07th November 2020 coinciding the National Cancer Awareness Day (07 November).

Padmashree Dr. M.R. Rajagopal, Chairman, Pallium India was the Special Invitee during the Session.  He spoke on Life with Dignity of chronic patients and emphasized on giving Time, Dignity and Independence to take decisions to the patients.

The Academic Session was coordinated by Dr. Bhargavi CN, Academic Coordinator, DNipCare. 

Prof.(Dr. ) Bimla Kapoor, moderated the first half of the Session on Breaking Bad News while Dr. Ajisha Shamsheer, Palliative Care Doctor facilitated and comprehended the second half Session on End  of Life Care.
 
Ms. Sangeeta Patil, Clinical Instructor, Krishna Institute, Karad, Maharashtra did the case presentation during the session.
 
Ms. Alice Stella Verginia, Palliative Care Faculty, IAPC presented on Breaking Bad News and spoke at length on the efficacy of it.
 
Sr. Hanife MacGamwell presented on 'End of Life Care' and the necessity of the care for the terminally ill patients. 
 
Shri Suresh Thaliyaril, Secretary, DNipCare coordinated the overall program of the day. 

Ms. Neelima Shingade, Sr. Nursing Officer, IRCH, AIIMS presented a video on Breaking the Bad News. 

Mr. Rajeesh Swaminathan, LPN, Canada briefly shared his Palliative Care experience in Canada.

Ms. Vini Shakuntala, Nursing Officer, Aruna Asfali Hospital summarised the learning highlights.

Ms. Aparna PS, Volunteer of DNipCare said a vote of thanks.

The participants of the Academic Session expressed their enthusiasm and worthiness of the session through their feedback provided at the end of the session.
