On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti on 02nd October 2022, a Medical Camp for the boys of Ummeed Aman Ghar, Mehrauli, Delhi was organized by DNipCare. The Program was inaugurated by Mr. Jomy Thomas, Chief of Bureau, Malayala Manorama, Delhi. While inaugurating the Program, Mr. Jomy Thomas emphasized on the necessity of rendering Palliative Care as a solace for the suffering patients. He has also recollected the beginning of Palliative Care mission by DNipCare consequent on the series of articles on the subject published in the Malayala Manorama Daily during the year 2008.
Ms. Liz Mathew, Deputy Political Editor, The Indian Express was the Guest of Honour during the program and felicitated the mission of Palliative Care under DNipCare and the unconditional service rendered by the Volunteers including the Doctors and other Medical professionals.
The Medical Team of the Program was led by Dr. Indu, Senior Resident, Dr. RML Hospital, Dr. Chacko Charley and Dr. Athira, Junior Residents from Safdarjung Hospital & Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital respectively. The other Medical professionals participated in the program were Mr. Suresh Thaliyaril, Sr. Nursing Officer and Secretary of DNipCare, Mr. Desant Chakumbeth, Nursing Officer, Safdarjung Hospital. Other Volunteers like Mr. Abdul Kareem PK, Ms. Seema Prasad, Mr. Nanda Kumaran, Ms. Omana Gopal and Mr. Somasekharan also actively participated in the the program where Medical Screening of the 70 odd students of the Ummeed Aman Ghar was carried out and the medicines dispensed as per the prescriptions of the Doctors participated. Mr. Yuvaraj, Administrative Head and Mr. Aman, Social Worker of the Bhawan jointly coordinated the program with Mr. Suresh Thaliyaril, Secretary, DNipCare.
KV Hamza, Gen. Secretary DNipCare welcomed the participants and Mr. Desant Chakumbath said vote of thanks.
