The Volunteers of DNipCare, considering the extreme winter conditions prevailing in Delhi, have observed the Winter Warmth in Palliative Care with the patients of Delhi State Cancer Institute, its Sir Soba Singh Dharmashala and Swami Dayanand Hospital, Dilshad Garden, Delhi by distributing Blankets and Jackets to the patients on 23rd December 2023.
The KMCC, Delhi has provided 200 blankets for distributing to the patients. The jackets were provided by a Philanthropist for distributing to the patients to beat the biting cold and insisted that his name may be kept anonymous.
The following Volunteers attended the program for distributing the Blankets and Jackets to the patients:
Mr. Michael PJ, Mr. Nanda Kumaran, Mr. Abdul Kareem PK, Ms. Kasturi Babu, Ms. Seema Prasad, Ms. Pearly Sen, Ms. Syeda Anam, Ms. Geeta Rani, Ms. Divya, Miss Rachael Kabhichi, Miss Arti, Mr. Soma Sekharan, Mr. Subin Salam, Mr. Suresh Thaliyaril, Secretary and coordinated by KV Hamza, General Secretary, DNipCare.
Sister Veena Singh of Delhi State Cancer Institute guided the distribution for patients in DSCI.
Thereafter, the Volunteers visited the Dharmashala of DSCI and distributed the above items to the few patients staying there.
Third destination was Swami Dayanand Hospital in Dilshad Garden coming under the Municipal Corporation of Delhi.
Dr. C.L. Verma of the Swami Dayanand Hospital was extremely kind and empathetic to the plights of the patients that he came from home to lead and guide in distributing the items to the suffering patients admitted in the hospital wards and to help them to beat the extreme winter conditions.
A total of 200 blankets and 200 jackets have been distributed by the Volunteers to the patients.
Moreover, it is just like a tribute from the Volunteers of DNipCare to Dr. M. Venugopal, former Medical Superintendent of Swami Dayanand Hospital, Delhi who died a few years back and the Hospital Block in his name reminds the good memories of this great Doctor and a noble human being.
