DNipCare held a Palliative Care Sensitization Program with Cancer Awareness & Basic Life Support including CPR Training for Officials of Indian Meteorological Department, Ministry of Earth Sciences at Mausam Bhawan, New Delhi on 08th August 2024.
Ms. Ranju Madan and Mr. Santhosh Kumar, DDGs, inaugurated the Programme and presided over the Session led by the DNipCare Team comprising Mr. Subu R., IAAS, President of DNipCare, Dr. Ankur Chikara, Former Assistant Professor, VMMC & Safdarjung Hospital, KV Hamza, Gen. Secretary, Mr. Michael PJ, IA & Volunteer, Ms. Seema Prasad, Academic Coordinator & Volunteer, Miss Varsha KV, Counseling Psychologist of "Beyond Words" & Volunteer and Mr. Desanth Chakumpath, Nursing Officer and Volunteer DNipCare.
Mr. Subu Rahman spoke on the efficacy of Palliative Care and felicitated the Program. Dr. Ankur Chikara went into the details on Prevention of not only Cancer, but also other Life Style Diseases and treatment protocols thereon followed with an extensive Question-Answer Session.
KV Hamza presented the nuances of Community based Palliative Care and its role in everybody's life not only for themselves or family members, but also for others in the community.
Mr. Michael PJ, emphasized on the role of common people in Palliative Care and the Volunteering opportunity thereon.
Miss Varsha KV, has focused on the grave menace of dementia and related disorders currently being faced by people in many families and the necessity of creating awareness on it.
Mr. Desanth Chakumpath with his impressive style of presentation demonstrated the Basic Life Support Program specifically Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation to be carried out by each and everyone to save the lives of people falling prey to the sudden cardiac arrest. Two employees of the IMD have also done the hands on practice of conducting CPR on the mannequin.
The Incharge of Welfare Section of the IMD welcomed all the participants and also said vote of thanks.
