Palliative Care Sensitization & Basic Life Support Training at Jamia Hamdard, School of Management & Business Studies by DNipCare on 03rd September 2024

DNipCare Team held a Palliative Care Sensitization &  Basic Life Support Training for the Management Students of Jamia Hamdard, School of Management & Business Studies, Department of Healthcare & Pharmaceutical Management on 03rd September 2024.

Prof. (Dr.) Sakhi John, Faculty of the Department inaugurated and presided over the Session carried out by the DNipCare Team comprising Mr. KV Hamza, Gen. Secretary, Mr. Michael PJ, Office Bearer, Mr. Desanth C, Nursing Officer, Safdarjung Hospital and Volunteer, Miss Varsha KV, Counseling Psychologist of "Beyond Words" &Volunteer of DNipCare and Miss Siyana Siyad, Jamia Millia Islamia Student and Intern with DNipCare.

Presentation was made on Community Based Palliative Care by KV Hamza, while a detailed talk on the importance of Rehabilitation in Palliative Care was explained by Mr. Michael PJ.  Miss Varsha KV has detailed the Psychological intervention on Palliative patients with a focus on the increasing Dementia cases in the society.  Mr. Desanth C has imparted the training on Basic Life Support including CPR with demonstration on mannequin and also hands on practice by the participating students.  Miss Siyana Siyad shared her volunteering and Interning experience on Palliative Care with DNipCare to the participating students. 

It is really worth mentioning that Dr. Sakhi John could manage a sizeable number of worthy attentive and enthusiastic Students of Management Studies to participate in the program despite it was on a declared holiday for the entire University.

  5. A very interactive Palliative care session provided a lot of knowledge regarding terminally ill and their care . Students are really encouraged. I was personally very much happy to be part of this session.
    Teachers like Dr. Sakhi John sir must be there in every university which will be helping students to empathise and will help to become a good citizen of country.
