Department of Economics, Jamia Millia Islamia in association with DNipCare held a Palliative Care Sensitization & Basic Life Support Training on the Occasion of World Hospice &Palliative Care Day - on 14th October 2024. Dr. Ashraf Illyan, HoD, Department of Economics inaugurated and presided over the program. Presentation on Community Based Palliative Care has been given by KV Hamza, Gen. Secretary DNipCare while the role of Students in Palliative Care has been elucidated by Ms. Seema Prasad, Students Coordinator of DNipCare. Mr. Desanth C, Nursing Officer of Vardhman Mahaveera Medical College & Safdarjung Hospital imparted the Basic Life Support Training including CPR and demonstrated with the help of mannequin and also gave hands on training to all the students and the faculties participated in the program. Enthusiastic students showed keen interest to involve in the Palliative Care activities and it is expected that the students shall be able to become the propagators of the mission and thereby ensure the care for the debilitating patients around them.
