Before the dawn Saturday
brought us the news of sad demise of Mrs. Gayatri, the Cancer Patient of
Dakshinpuri and one of our Palliative family members. Almost a year passed since our association
with Gayatri started. She had been suffering
from the disease for about 1½ years and the volunteers of DNipCare especially
under the leadership of our vibrant volunteer Mr. Ajith Kumar were always there
to be with her through the thick and thin of her suffering life, be it to
provide medical and social support to her or even to be participants to the
marriage of her daughter. Immense
tragedies beginning with widowhood and later the tentacles of Cancer, nothing
spared her. But Gayatri through her soft
spoken attitude was fighting all the odds of her life. Finally she bid farewell to all her worries
and issues on this day of 6th July 2013. We are grateful to all our volunteers
especially Suresh Thaliyaril, Abdul Kareem, Nidhi Shukla, Jafar Ali etc., who were supporting her
through DNipCare’s Palliative Home Care program.
During the noon of Saturday came
the second shocking news of yet another sad demise, which was of Mr. Sheodasan
Nair, the Cancer Patient of Gurgaon, a recently added Palliative family member
of DNipCare. Our association with Nair started
from February 2013 only through a reference from Mr. P.Sudarshan Nair, the
President of Gurgaon Malayali Association.
Despite the disease and illness associated with it, Nair was not only a
brave front to face the disease, but also to resort to all the avenues and
strengths for fighting it out. Caroline
Arthur, Mansha Bagai, Sooraj Arangath, Namrata Singh, Seema Prasad, Bhumika
Gupta, Kasturi Babu, Abdul Latheef, Ajith Mohan, Ajith Kumar etc. to name a few
were there always to support Mr. Nair under DNipCare while he was undergoing
treatment from Delhi State Cancer Institute.
Altogether, it was really a
Sad Saturday on 6th July 2013.
Let us all pray for the
eternal peace for the departed souls.
With warm regards,
kv Hamza
