Live the life to the fullest; Killing spirit of Cancer patient to fight back the disease and live the life optimally.

Our Salute to Mr. Bhaskar Moorthy for his perception of life even while suffering from Cancer.  

Belonging to the Palghat District of Kerala, Bhaskar is living in Uttam Nagar, Delhi for the last 12 years.  The Cancer, painful treatments thereon, a major Colostomy surgery and above all the social stigma of carrying the colostomy bag outside the body, nothing obstructs his motivation and spirit to involve himself in all the activities coming across.  

He is a magnificent presence in the activities of many of the social organizations in and around Uttam Nagar.  After so many years he recently visited his hometown in Palghat and actively got involved in all the temple rituals including plays locally known as ‘Angadivela’ of Sree Vettakurup Swami Temple of Thathamangalam.  Whether it is fancy dress competition, horse/elephant ride or even drum beating; Bhaskar has proven his mettle and got a place in the hearts of one and all.  

Of late the team of ‘Kannadi’, a news feature program of Asianet News Channel also got hint of him and done a 10 minutes telecast at 10 PM on 22^nd June 2013 on Bhaskar’s story of seeing life in a different perspective. 

Bhaskar’s association with DNipCare started almost 18 months back prior to his 
undergoing Colostomy surgery.  However, the few days just before the surgery were very crucial for not only Bhaskar, but for us, the volunteers, for convincing him that life can move on its own pace despite the different stages of worries and tumults peeking in occasionally.  His courteous and respectful attitude towards one and all irrespective of the age endears him to everybody and the result is his large number of friends to support and care.  Let his life be a role model for all other ailing patients to follow and live a life full of happiness and satisfaction even when the disease is living with them as reluctant to leave guests.
