Our condolence......

We, the volunteers of DNipCare would like to express our heartfelt condolences on the untimely demise of 24 years old Mr. Mohammed Abid who was suffering from Cancer (Buccal Mucosa) and HIV +,  on 5^th August 2013 from our Palliative family and this World.   Mr. Abid belonged to Gali Mohalla Pathankot, Bhagpat, Uttar Pradesh.

 A very young man with a lot of hopes for life, but was gradually reconciling with the situation. 

It is also an irony that we could not find a care home to provide him the terminal care as

 1) people dealing with terminal cancer are not able to entertain the HIV + cases

2) those take care of HIV+ will handle if the patient is having issues due to HIV+ only and

3) Currently DNipCare is having voluntary Palliative Home Care only for long term, bedridden, terminally ill patients including Cancer and geriatric care patients. 

It has also been heard that the projects of ’Care Homes’ funded by the apex Government  organization for HIV+ have stopped from this year or so.

So the pertinent question arises is how to ensure palliative hospice care to patients suffering from HIV+ especially when patients like Abid coming from distant places like Bhagpat, Uttar Pradesh does not have any premise to live here in Delhi except the Dharamshala of Delhi State Cancer Institute. 

We would like to gratefully acknowledge the care and support provided by our volunteers like Ajith Kumar, Arun Unnikrishnan, Kasturi Babu, Kalpana Gupta, Seema Prasad, Bhumika Gupta, Nidhi Shukla, Suresh Thaliyaril, Antony Cyriac etc., to name a few for Mr. Abid and his mother while they were staying in Dharamshala of Delhi State Cancer Institute, Dilshad Garden, Delhi and obtaining treatment from the institue. 

Let us all pray for the departed soul.
