Listening Community & DNipCare in association with Kerala Club observed World Suicide Prevention Day 2022 with the theme "Creating Hope through Action " on 10th September 2022 in the Club.
Dr. Abdul Gafoor led the discussion of the topic joined by the following participants.
Mr. Sayyid Shaheer, Mr. R. Nandakumar, Mr. Dineshan Varikkoli, Mr. Mohammed Shaheer, Mrs. Geeta Rani, KV Hamza, Mr. Mohammed Anas T, Miss Ridha Fathima and Miss Dilsha AP.
Importance of Listening specifically in the context of Suicide Prevention and depression management has been discussed in detail with examples and live stories. Necessity of psychological intervention not only for mental health patients, but also chronic patients of different lime limiting illnesses and on Palliative Care has also been discussed at length.
It has also been pondered over by all the participants how the potential resources of budding Psychologists can be effectively utilized for improving the quality of life of all the patients requiring the psychological interventions.
