On or around June 21 each
year, the rays of the sun will be perpendicular to the Tropic of Cancer at
23°30' North latitude. This day is the summer solstice in the
Northern Hemisphere. It's the longest day of sunlight for places in the
Northern Hemisphere.
We, the volunteers of
DNipCare, in collaboration with our fellow volunteers from NSS Unit of IIT, Delhi held a Summer
Soft Musical Treat for Cancer Patients on 21st June 2014, the
longest hot summer day in Shanti Avedna Sadan, the Hospice Centre for
terminally ill Cancer Patients in New Delhi.
Antony Cyriac, Ajith Kumar, Abdul Kareem,
Kasturi Babu, Dr. Beena, Seema Prasad, Shikha Gulati, Mrs. Antony, Shefali Babu, Anurag
Acharya, Shivanandan, Hemul Bunkar, Esha, Niten Mukesh etc., participated in the program and presented a
lively enthralling evening for the suffering Cancer Patients to enjoy the soothing music. Niten Mukesh played the Guitar and others

It
was an effort by us to provide little comfort through the potential of music in
the lives of those patients who have otherwise nothing to think of except about
their progressing disease while the best care and support being given by the Shanti
Avedna Sadan authorities.
